https://petapixel.com/2019/10/30/the-mavic-mini-is-the-right-drone-for-most-photographers/ Super cool that reliable companies are making smaller and more affordable drones that normal people can go out and buy and not have to worry about registering with the FAA.  I personally have my 107 commercial drone license but never really use it because drones are so expensive.  Having the ability to run to best buy and pick up a drone for $399 that has an awesome camera and flight characteristics was unheard of a couple of years ago.

https://petapixel.com/2019/10/16/photo-of-fox-scaring-marmot-wins-wildlife-photographer-of-the-year-2019/ Interesting winner for the photo of the year compared to some of the others that were submitted.  The composition and "luckiness" of the shot is, in my opinion, the reason that it won.  The 10-year-olds winner is a more impressive shot in the way the humming bird is in focus with the flower coupled with the correct shutter speed.  The marmot and the coyote is a great example of pull the trigger and you never know what the result will be.  In this case, a photo of the year.

https://fstoppers.com/gear/having-best-equipment-doesnt-make-you-better-413796 This is an interesting subject, especially in todays world where software and sensors get better every year.  Using equipment that is a couple years doesn't necessarily take you out of the competition.  Sure you can have a 60 mp camera that fits in the palm of your hand and can be bought at any normal Best Buy, but a 12 mp Nikon D3s has the potential to create equally as cool photos.

https://www.pilatus-aircraft.com/en/downloads#calendar The Pilatus calendar is a cool publication that the aircraft manufacturer puts out every year that incorporates their fleet as well as nature from all over the world.   As a photography student it is interesting to see the use of contrasting backgrounds that really make all the photos “work”.  a lot of the photos would be hard to recreate due to the use of a chase airplane used to take the photos and some of the remote locations. Part of aviation photography has to be nailing the shutter speed so the airplane is not motion blurred but the propeller still remains blurred.  If this wasn’t so the airplane would look weird, like it was just still in the air.
